CTGBC Committees

CTGBC hosts a number of committees and a Southwestern Branch. Members are encouraged to participate in one or more of them; all are welcome.

Advocacy Committee

The Advocacy Committee assists CTGBC members in understanding the legislative process, to educate state and local governments’ understanding of green building. The Advocacy Committee also works as needed with the USGBC Advocacy Committee to support national initiatives. Responsibilities include: (1) Track pending legislation and make links to these bills available to members on the CTGBC website. (2) Implement Board policy regarding education and advocacy approved by the Board and “educate when possible, advocate as necessary”. (3) Provide support to USGBC national advocacy campaigns as appropriate and communicate same to members and the community at large. (4) Increase committee membership and establish committee succession plan to insure continued leadership.
