According to the Green Parking Garage Council there are more Chargepoint electric vehicle chargers than there are McDonalds - and twice as many than the number of Starbucks! Pretty cool. Thanks to our colleagues at Clean Technica for this news.

Green Garage Certification is the world's only rating system defining and recognizing sustainable practices in parking structure management, programming, design, and technology.

The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co.'s downtown Hartford One State Street headquarters recently received LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, the company announced.

The 24-story building's energy use, lighting, water consumption and other factors all played into its overall LEED score, the equipment insurer said.

The USGBC uses a 100-point system to assign LEED certifications, which range from "certified" (40-49 points) to "platinum" (80+ points).
